“A government has two duties: to ensure our security and economic prosperity. This government does not fulfill either of these duties,”…
The quote was taken from an article posted on Lew Rockwell this morning with regards to civil protests in the Czech Republic. Apparently, an unidentified speaker at a rally in Prague made the comment.
This is interesting. Not only is a government supposed to keep us safe from harm, but it is also expected to guarantee that we become more prosperous. Nothing quite like an honest statement to show where your faith lies. The speaker has literally expressed what millions, probably billions, of people around the world believe, that the primary function of governments is to keep them safe in every way and that whenever something untoward or harmful shows up, to do whatever is necessary on our behalf to negate the threat. After all, the government works for us, doesn’t it? Isn’t that why we were able to survive the “existential threat” of Covid-19 which would have been cataclysmic if not for the herculean efforts of Anthony Fauci and his cohorts?
Right! And the US dollar is still worth as much as it was in 1913 when the Federal Reserve was created and began manipulating managing the currency for their our benefit, making all of them us more secure and richer. Or, as succinctly stated in the opening paragraph of the FED’s website,
“…to provide the nation with a safer, more flexible, and more stable monetary and financial system.”
Right again!! We can all go to sleep at night knowing that our future is guaranteed, that we will wake up in the morning to the news that the stocks we own have just increased in value (again) and that the rumors circulating about the imminent demise of the dollar as the reserve currency of the world have been debunked by experts and talking heads which we trust to tell us the truth. Not only that, but the war with East Asia Russia has been nearly won and any talk about nuclear warheads and missiles flying around is really only just so much bluster and bluff. All we have to do is “stand with Ukraine” until the war against Putin is resolved to our satisfaction and the entire world comes under the umbrella of the Pax Americana policy. Or at least the modern neo-con version of it.
No need to worry. Everything is under control. Nothing to see here, move along.
Now, maybe the Czech Republic is different. Maybe its government really does care about its citizens and will do whatever it takes to keep them healthy, wealthy, and wise. Maybe unicorns really do exist and pigs fly. Hey, in a world where men can become pregnant women simply by deciding to, anything is possible.
Including the truth being known and made evident. Even if it does not look that way.
